When a migraine sets in, one of the best things anyone can do is unwind. And for me, there is no better way to unwind than turning on some relaxing tunes. But which ones are the best? Studies have shown there are certain songs scientifically geared towards relaxing your body and mind, but I believe everybody’s different. Below I shared my top five.
1. Claire De Lune – Claude Debussy
No words. Just you and your thoughts… and now Ocean’s Eleven. EVEN SO, this is a song everyone should be able to get behind. It puts me right to sleep.
2. Green Eyes – Coldplay
Something about Coldplay and Chris Martin’s voice is just very soothing, but this song in particular really calms me down and allows me to really ‘let everything go’ so to speak. Have a listen.
3. Your Song - Elton John
This song actually holds a lot of sentimental value for me. I used to play it on the piano nearly every single day when I was in high school… I’m not sure if it’s just me, but I believe this song has beautiful tones and rhythms, and I always listen or play it when I’m stressed out.
4. Over the Rainbow – Israel Kamikawiwo’ole
It’s so wonderful! How can you not enjoy Israel Kamikawiwo’ole? Such a soft voice, and he truly makes you believe in his calming personality.
5. The Lazy Song – Bruno Mars
Okay, maybe you shouldn’t listen to this right at the onset of a migraine, but this is a song I really like to listen to when things are starting to look a little brighter. Give it a chance! Bruno has an amazing ability to sweep you off your feet.
