Beauty- it’s not just skin deep. This topic is very subjective and every person you ask will have a different definition of what is beautiful to him or her. However, no matter what you find beautiful or attractive, I think there is one thing most of us will agree on. Healthy skin is important no matter your age or gender. Everyone wants radiant glowing skin. Treating our skin well is important. However, all the sunscreen, moisturizers and serums we slather on will only go so far. It is true that all these things will help to some degree, but what goes in our bodies has so much more to do with the health of our skin than anything else. This is why eating plenty of “real food” is so beneficial.
What do I mean by “real food”? Well, I’m glad you asked! I mean foods that don’t have all those added chemicals, artificial flavors, unnatural sugars or preservatives. How about instead of reaching for the bags of chips, we reach for the bag of carrots? Or, instead of reaching for a candy bar when we want a sweet treat, we reach for that pear that’s hidden way over there on the corner of the countertop. And, while we’re at it, why not choose to eat those foods that are known to be full of anti-aging properties.
This week, I’m going to focus on the avocado. With the monounsaturated fatty acids and high levels of vitamin E, the avocado is an excellent source when we want to give our skin a nice little boost. If this sounds like what you are looking for, make sure to try this simple, yet tasty avocado dish. Your skin will thank you for it!!
